Carry out my wayward son lyrics9/9/2023 They have a system to address "problem beds" and will spy on people in their bedrooms, causing body pain if they don't agree with the sexual activity taking place. That state is monitoring the sexual activity of its citizens and punishing people for "sinning" with Remote Neural Monitoring technology. Our country is messed up, but few things top the sick and disgusting things that are happening in Kansas. This song is about the horrendous living conditions in the state of Kansas. (Its very emotional for me, and very important, but if I stay the course, I'll find the right answer for me.) Tossed about I'm like a ship on the ocean (So I'll fake it, pretend I know what the answer is, and MAYBE the answer will suddenly come to me by chance) Though my mind could think I still was a mad man Though my eyes could see I still was a blind man (I thought I had the answer, but it wasnt for me) Just to get a glimpse beyond this illusion Once I rose above the noise and confusion It's about looking for answers, not finding them, and continuing your search regardless of the progress thus far. When this was written, he didn't know what he believed in, and that what it's about. He was on a voyage, a spiritual voyage to figure out what he believed in. But nothing ever came to he that smacked him in the face. He dabbled in different religious philosophies and teachings. He knew there was more to life than the simple everyday. Kerry Livgren, in the early 70's was wandering spiritual vagrant. ".I stood where no man goes, ABOVE THE DIN I ROSE." This refers to aa line from a song off of the Masque album called the Pinnacle. ".once I rose above the noise and confusion, just to get a glipse beyond the illusion." To understand the words to this song, you have to be a FAN of Kansas's music, and that means ALL of it. (Carry on my wayward sonĪlright knuckleheads. To carry on as there will be peace when he is done. The chorus states exactly what it says on the tin. He continues to push himself knowing the odds, picturing himself as he once was and heading towards that goal. Tossed about I'm like a ship on the ocean) but he is confronted with an array of uncontrollable emotions and not knowing what is right or wrong makes it worse. After everything, he found out he had lost all he once had because of what his actions and tries to regain his 'past' self. He claims what he is doing is right, and that he states he knows what he is doing to his loved ones so as they would not worry, yet he doesn't know where he is going either(And if I claim to be a wise man, well He tried to justify his actions more so to himself then to others (My charade is the event of the season). He pretended (Masquerading as a man with a reason) to know what he was doing in front of others so as not to seem wrong. He pushes himself on even in his sleep, telling himself to carry on. (Though my mind could think I still was a mad man) He hurt the ones around him unknowningly when he was simply trying to improve himself because he can't tell wrong from right. He tries to make things right but failing because he couldn't see how (Though my eyes could see I still was a blind man). Then, as things began to fall apart he didn't know what to do, having things always going his way before. He took everybody around him for granted and pushed away the ones he should have held close. He was feeling really good about himself, but he got complacent. Just to get a glimpse beyond this illusion). 'Rising' above the rest if you will (Once I rose above the noise and confusion To further elaborate, this is a man who had every non-materialistic thing he wanted in life such as friends, popularity etc. I feel this song is about a man who is lost.
